Our second Lactation College Blog is up.
Here we go again with llamas. Do you remember when we started this semester, one of the emails for human milk composition was about colostrum? We used the mnemonic LLAMAS Pee Green to remember components in colostrum.
Colostrum is the topic over on the Lactation College Blog that you can find here: Lactation College Blog
I think this is a llama (might be an alpaca, but I think it is a llama). I took this picture when our family traveled to Peru. The blog changes the mnemonic a bit to LLAMAS Pee Gold (instead of Green) just cause colostrum is sometimes called liquid gold. Get it?
Here is a chart looking at concentrations of components in colostrum compared to mature milk.
The site you are on right now is The Lactation College on Substack. This runs in a semester format over about a four-month time period. I post newsletters every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Lactation College on Substack
This site is Lactation College on-line site where you can take courses and obtain CERP (lactation), CEU (nursing) and CME (provider) credits. Lactation College
